Mareike Neuhaus offers a fresh approach to this question by uncovering holophrases- or traces of ancestral languages- in poetry, prose and other writings of Indigenous authors, thereby situating these works as both Indigenous and as part of a rich body of established literatures.
Mareike Neuhaus was born in Hamm, Germany, and eventually came to Saskatchewan to study Indigenous Poetics and Literature. She now lives in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan.
