In this charming coming of age story, the third in the Road Allowance Kitten series, Madeleine, Rosie, and Kitten continue their adventures, this time visiting a circus. Unexpectedly, Madeleine is diagnosed with tuberculosis—a sadly common experience for Indigenous Peoples in the early twentieth century. While healing in a sanitarium, Madeleine resumes her friendship with Rosie and Kitten, albeit from a distance. The trio shows us the strength of true friendship and the need for hope when faced with adversity. Vividly illustrated by Christina Johns and with a Michif translation by Irma Klyne and Larry Fayant, Road Allowance Kitten: Full Circle leaves young readers with a strong impression of Métis resilience and pride.
Wilfred Burton is a proud Michif from the Midnight Lake area of Saskatchewan. For over 30 years, he was an elementary to post-secondary teacher. Upon retirement, he moved to Saskatoon with his two feline roommates, Leo and Baptiste. Wilfred spends most of his time reading, writing, gardening and volunteering for various organizations. His love of Métis storytelling, fiddle music, and dance was a gift from his mother, Georgina Nolin.
